A Soil Health Informational Workshop will be held at 5 p.m. on Sept. 9 in Pierpont, SD.
Among other soil health concerns, presenters will discuss the new EQIP signup to help producers and landowners in the Upper James River Basin fight the expansion of saline soils.
“There’s approximately a million dollars annually in designated funds for this effort,” USDA NRCS SD Day County District Conservationist Matthew Hubers said. “If you’re willing to do the practices set forth by this initiative, your odds of funding are extremely good.”
The deadline to sign up for this program is Oct. 1, so don’t miss this chance to learn more about funding to help you remedy your areas of high salinity.
