Rotate into Profits with Small Grains

The South Dakota Wheat Growers Association is offering “Rotate Into Profits With Small Grains” seminar for crop producers across the state. Improving crop yield and producers’ bottom line is the focus of the seminar. Three seminars are scheduled for the eastern counties:
- Tuesday, April 22, Southeast Research Farm, 29974 University Road, BERSEFORD – 8:30 am – 9:30 am
- Tuesday, April 22, Codington County Extension office, 1910 West Kemp Ave., WATERTOWN – 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm
- Wednesday, April 23, Aberdeen Extension office, 13 2nd Ave Southeast, ABERDEEN 8:30 am – 9:30 am
The seminar explains why small grains will improve the soil, increase yields, control diseases & pests and reduce erosion. In addition to enhancing your crop production, you can talk to Soil Health Coalition personnel about availability of technical and financial programs when using specific crops. And to help you calculate the profits for your chosen crop rotation system, you will receive a budget calculator specific to your county.
Many producers experience a five to ten present yield increase, in the crop following a small grain. Producers using small grains in their rotation will be in attendance to answer any questions you may have, as you consider including small grains in your crop rotation.
