The 2022 Spink County Winter Soil Health Workshop will be held 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Feb. 22 at the 4-H Building on the Spink County Fairgrounds in Redfield, SD.

Agenda

9:30-10 a.m. – Registration and Exhibitor Booth Expo

10-10:30 a.m. – Welcome and Introductions

10:30-11 a.m. – Funding Opportunities from EQIP to Carbon Credits, Jared Knock, AgSpire

11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. – Cover Crop Selection, Steve Groff, Cover Crop Coaching

12:30-1:15 p.m. – Lunch and Exhibitor Booth Expo

1:15-3 p.m. – Planting Green, Steve Groff, Cover Crop Coaching

3-3:45 p.m. – Producer Panel: Programs, Salinity Issues, and Soil Health Practices, Alex Boekelheide, Cooper Gordon, and Keith Lambert

3:45-4 p.m. – Closing Remarks and Exhibitor Booth Expo

About Steve Groff

Steve Groff and his family farm 200 acres of cover crops for seed, pumpkins, hemp, and heirloom tomatoes in Lancaster County, PA. Some fields have been continuously no-tilled for 39 years! For the past 20 years he has pursued how to make nutrient dense foods a reality on his farm. Steve is the developer of the Tillage Radish and the first cover crop Roller-Crimper in North America and is the founder of Cover Crop Coaching, which educates farmers and farm advisors about effective cover crop use and soil health principles.
